One of the main reasons that the RB is not able to get out is because he has to reach down for a very low throw. Thus, the decision, which is poor to start with, is complicated by even worse execution with a Plummer-like throw.

If you want talk about the cons to Stanzi's play on the field, do it legitimately like OTW and others have been doing on this very thread. What I saw in the video that you posted were some situations that put Stanzi in shitty positions. Some of the plays were Ricky's fault, but a lot of them were not.

Yeah, it's the same treatment that Cassel gets around here (ie "it's not all his fault.") But I'd much rather see if Stanzi can overcome those initial hangups. I know for a fact that Cassel has not and can not and never will. This is as good as he gets.
OTW's post previous to this isn't really fair though either is it? He broke down what he saw in a biased highlight film of a poor team outing in a rain game. Not his fault, he was calling what he saw. Only he stated these things as if they were based on his typical play.

No shit. The fact this is even being defended is laughable. I guess when you've been a fan of a team that's never won shit you hold onto anything you can?

He was an amazing college kicker.
That was one of my favorite meltdowns when we passed on him and the Chargers took him. I think some of the Iowa fans would've stabbed a guy with a trident to get him. He was definitely promoted as the greatest leg to ever kick a football.

Listen, if you want to discuss something....bring up something to discuss.

The one thing that might make that really not a bad decision is the speed of the RB vs. the LB.

If Stanzi knows that the RB's speed is far superior to that LB, then he knows that RB can probably get OOB.

If the speed difference is marginal, it's a bad decision.

I think it's pretty stupid that we are fighting over a single play.

It was a 3rd yard pass with no timeouts. To me the risk outweighs the reward throw it away and live to play another down with 10 or so seconds on the clock.

There's no time to think about all of that. Game on the line, clock ticking down? It's survival time. Nothing more, nothing less.

He makes an inexcusable decision.

It's not just one play Milkman again one of the knocks on Stanzi was decision making. Not sure that's something that can be corrected with coaching.

In the big picture, I'd agree with you.

But whose the kicker?
What's his range.

From the original LOS, that is about a 55 yard kick.

I get that, and you may be right.

But, did his decision making improve from his junior season to his senior season?

Decision making is somtimes a product of maturity.
