We need a real OLB. We needed one last year. Didn't get one. We needed one this year. Didn't get one.

Hali/Ford is an AIDS fest, and in my opinion, it's a bigger problem than no ILBs. Johnson will be gone after this year. We can survive on mediocre replacements like KPL, Ragland, and Ramik Wilson. But I'm sick of having no pass rush.

Of course, that also depends on our idiot defensive coordinator actually using the pass rushers he's got.

I'm guessing it's cost prohibitive to release him and he's sadly the best we have, but he's not a dominant player anymore. I'm counting down the days until he's gone.

Hard to get a pass rush when at least 2 receivers are open half a second after the ball is snapped. Might help if we actually jammed guys at the line rather than give them a 10 yard ****ing cushion every play

It starts with the DL. They can't collapse shit to actually push the QB out to our lame ass edge-rushing, which makes Mr MVP Zombo work extra for anything.

The DL is shit and the dumbass coordinator thinks it's cool and good to rock and roll with just 2 of them. Can't imagine why we can't rush shit.

Chris Jones, IMO his scoped knee is ****ing with him. He's not using passrush moves he did as a rookie and can't shed blocks in comparison to last season.

He'll be fine, but the other 2 need to go

I hope he'll be more than fine because the way he was progressing last season, I thought he'll be shoulder to shoulder with Joey Bosa as the young elite DL of young DL

Ok, so realistic? The OP is a pipe dream. Bridgewater wont sign to be the #2, and building a roster with a bunch of high priced free agents rarely works.

I'd go the Dick Vermiel route. He brought in Willie Roaf first thing. Then shored up the offensive line, grabbed then the amazing back, and traded for the QB. Well, we've got the QB (Mahomes), and the solid back and TE. So, I'd trade smith for a 3rd, dump a bunch of old dudes as the OP mentioned, selectively seek out a couple of free agent fatties, then hire an aggresive defensive coordinator that runs a more attacking style D. This team is too far from being a SB contender if you ask me, to do anything other than start rebuilding the trenches. Got to win there first. So, I'd draft and sign good fatties on both sides of the ball in the off season, and then start going after other parts the following off season. That'd be Mahomes third season, and if he'd gonna be good, then the chiefs would be a contender.

The offensive line isn't changing much next year. You may see a new LG....but I'm pretty sure that Ehinger would fill that spot.

This. People need to get over the OL thing. This is the OL for the next 2 seasons at least. I'm not sold that they're even the issue.

They have their bugs but they aren't bad by any means. No one was complaining about them in the beginning of the year when Smith had his nuts out. Now he reacts to phantom pressure and all of a sudden it's the offensive line's fault. Mahomes will have a decent offensive line next year. They really only need to find a swing tackle and some decent depth if Fulton leaves in FA.
