Bills/ Bengals [cancelled - process in OP]

In case anyone needs it spelled out, we would play at a neutral site if the AFCCG ends up being Chiefs vs. Bills. All other scenarios abide by the usual rules (so any other game the Chiefs play will be at home).

shitty communication, shouldnt have needed this long to sort it out , and shouldnt have come to this idiotic result

I don’t blame the Bengals for being enraged about this at all. It would be awesome seeing them get ****ed into playing all road games though

This isn't true. He was stable on his vitals in the ambulance while they waited to leave and at that moment his fate was already essentially sealed with regards to brain damage, which was the main concern. Sure, suspend that game in the moment but it was perfectly reasonable to play on Wednesday. The decision to play shouldn't be based on his recovery and long term prognosis because that essentially says they would only play if its good. And this isn't hindsight. I posted about it in real time.

Here's a little blurb I could find ranking stadiums:

https://www.profootballnetwork.com/nfl-stadiums-ranked/

They have the stadium ranked 20th out of 30 but proceed to talk about how great Nashville is rather than the stadium itself; it's getting a boost by virtue of being in a great city.

And most of the stadiums behind it are among the more notorious shitholes in the NFL.

That jibes with my feelings as well. It's just not a good venue despite a spectacular location.

To make some connect the dots conclusion about how a regular season result should override an established rulebook and clear set of determining factors that are already in place is completely ****ing reeruned.

But I realize you already know that.

Sorry to interrupt your simping for the Bills. I'll let you get back to that . . . . .
You could tell which posters would have a different view of the win percentage rule if the Chiefs had tiebreaker over Bills and were half a game behind with one less game played by Bills and that one less game was at Bengals and Tarryon Johnson was out of game already.

You should list out the posters that would have the 100% opposite view of the sanctity of that rule if the application of it cost the Bills a chance to lose into a tiebreaker that Chiefs were holding.

If you need the ultimate example of how this whole thing makes no sense whatsoever, it's this right here. Complete and utter garbage.

This entire charade is being carried out so the NFL doesn't hurt the Bills feelings and look bad to the media, and that is the most ridiculous thing I have ever seen in a pro sports league. This is just pure shit from top to goddamn bottom.

Hamlin was pretty stable by Tuesday, the game could have been played Wednesday. This is goddamn NFL football, not a kids soccer league. I had to go back to work 3 days after my mother-in-law unexpectedly passed away, the soft ass Bills could have played a game 3 days after their teammate had a horrible but not deadly injury. That goddamn simple.

This is a pile of horseshit the size of which hasn't been seen in a long time.

Not exactly, The Bills would still need to beat the Patriots also.

The Chiefs had earned the one seed going into Monday Night. The Bills needed to beat the Bengals in order to take the one seed back. They did NOT do that.

Nothing has been given to the Chiefs.

Had the game been played in the next 2-3 days (Rules state 48 hours) and the Bills won, then fine.

If you are NOT going to play a game then you can not expect that to keep your current position, you surely realize that it will have a negative effect.

Whomever wins the One seed should get all that comes with it. The rules are set for this exact scenario, the seeding will be decided by winning percentage, period. There is no rule for taking HFA away.

The NFL has always said there would be no rule changes during a season, much less the week before the playoffs.

This should be a settled issue with the rules that are in place.

The game was to be resumed within 48 hours, it was not. This should have triggered a forfeit.

Once the league decided to cancel the contest instead, it goes to winning percentage to decide seeding. This was a HUGE advantage to the Bills, allowing them to keep the number two seed without having to play their hardest game of the year in a hostile environment that sure looked like they were going to lose. (Yes I know it was early and they could have come back, Yes they are a good team certainly capable of that).

I would argue the league has already helped the Bills plenty at a serious cost to the Bengals.

The Chiefs however, have earned the one seed by winning more games than anyone else. There is no reason to take away HFA.

The Bills still have a chance to get the One seed thanks to the leagues decision. The Bengals do not have that opportunity based on that same decision.

The Bills are basically having no negative impact from this.

Not so for the Bengals, Ravens and possibly the Chiefs if this ridiculous rule change happens. (Also to the teams trying to make the playoffs)

Until this becomes precedent. You know if this passes they’ll tinker with this and have a vote to make the 1 seed have to choose between HFA or a bye from here on out.

wrong. it didnt "give" them shit. the Bills were losing and needed to earn a W to keep pace with the Chiefs. The Chiefs already WON and were in 1st seed PRIOR to the kickoff of that game.
