I think the team that registers the most online votes should get the ball first. I'm also in favor of a 10-foot gasoline fire down the hash marks in overtime in the playoffs

I've always been annoyed with the OT setup... even though it worked out well for Denver vs PIT many moons ago. I have never liked the idea that a game like that can be won thanks to a coin flip really.

At the very least, both teams should get at least 1 possession. I've always thought that, but if they keep it as is, I'm fine.

Yeah, which is good for the first team. But knowing what your opponent did is good for the second team. So this makes the coin flip much less impactful, which is what you want.

I a defensive game I could see deferring the OT kickoff as best. But in a game like Chiefs/Bills last year, you'd still want to take the kickoff and just assume TD-TD.

But then taking it first could suck because the Chiefs would probably kick the XP and the Bills could then go for 2 to end it.

So I think you always defer. But it's still much closer than the current rules.
