all my old side stuff was cash, only way we ate sometimes

We had a delivery driver pick up our food and literally drive off the wrong direction. They never once came towards us, we had customer service on the line and they said to call the number on the order. We called the number a lady picked up and said that she doesn't do door dash. Like those numbers are linked to the door dash order. We got our cost refunded and a 50$ credit.

What is truly sad is that we have a generation of kids that watch their parents live paycheck to paycheck and use services like door dash instead of cooking an inexpensive meal. It is bad enough that people are so lazy that dog food is delivered by UPS. This country is sinking fast. This civilization is on the economic Titanic and the majority are going to drown.

I stopped using food delivery services. The drivers are terrible, don’t read simple instructions and are rude for the most part.

I've seen some of the Doordash people come in for an order while I'm waiting that look like they could be a stand in for a character on The Walking Dead.

Sorry to hear you had shitty drivers. I've been nothing but polite, offer up good communication, ("sorry - your Buffalo Wild Wings order still isn't done."), and follow the very simple frien directions. My tips reflect that.

Regarding the actual thread topic, just make sure you're paying attention to wear and tear on your car when evaluating whether it's worth it to you. The IRS rate ($0.655 per mile currently) always seems crazy high, but it's usually in that ballpark once you consider the car cost, fuel, maintenance, insurance, etc.

.655 wouldn't break even on my vehicles. They're obviously not made for door dashing, but many are figuring close to $1 in actual costs now. Shop rates for even very simple repairs are climbing by the day. Just pricing tires and an alignment should scare most people away from beating their car to death.

I do driver for Doordash and have been since 2018. I am 5K deliveries in and have a 5.0 rating. I have seen some dashers that should not be doing it. They are awful to people at restaurants, smoke while the food is in their car, bring their pets and steal food. I expect today will be super busy.

Picking your area carefully and your orders carefully is a big part of your money per hour. Don’t go out of your way for small tip orders. Try to stay around an area with tons of houses and close subdivisions.

What can also **** you is arriving to the restaurant for an order you accept and it’s not actually ready. You just sit and wait.
