IronMan Fever!!!

I have a bunch of friends who have called and want to go see IronMan. Plus, the beautiful and witty Mrs. FAX wants to see it, as well. Unfortunately, the calls kept coming in and they all want to go at different times. I'm willing to see the movie ... maybe 3 times, but not 6 or 7 in the same weekend. Therefore, a quandry results. How do I decide who to go see IronMan with and who I regrettably turn down? At this point, I've said "yes" to everybody.

Any advice?

Thanks in advance for your assistance with this matter and Go IronMan!!!

Saw it last night. Pretty good flick... also, they snuck something into the movie.

When Gwyneth Paltrow is copying files onto the USB drive, watch the files... one file that lingers on screen a moment longer than others has the name "Lebowski" prominently displayed.

Sweet. Love little easter eggs like that.

Did you stay till after the credits? I keep hearing there's one last scene that's great. (Haven't seen it yet... I'm taking my son for his birthday next week.)

He fits in with today's action hero, in the sense that he can actually act and doesn't look like Sly or Arnold, thanks to CGI taking care of action scenes.
Short of the annoying kid character that he played in the Disney series Even Stevens, I have like almost every movie he has done. Holes, The Greatest Game Ever Played, Transformers, all had characters where he slipped into the role perfectly.

Wrong word choice on my part. I meant sucks. I know full well it will make all its money, which is why they made it. If you need other examples of pure money grabs see Star Wars 1-3 and Pirates 2 & 3. With the exception of maybe an hours worth of entertainment between those 5 movies, they all sucked and sucked hard.

Yeah. It's a huge fanboy moment, it sets up 2, and it's funny because of who they cast. Funny in a good way.

Yep. I've said this all along. And everyone else tells me that he's type cast as Even Stevens for life. I guess they just ignore everything else. To me, though, his true break out performance was Disturbia. Holes and The Greatest Game Ever Played were mediocre Disney feel good movies that really didn't change much of what he'd already played. Disturbia, I thought, really tested his abilities.

Iron man movie kicked total ass!

Don't be a pussy... go watch it now!

Best Marvel film to date IMO.

Can't wait for the sequals to start.

I dont hate on Star Wars 1-3 as much as most fanboys.

There are things in those flicks i love and things in there i dont like, but all in all, they are pretty entertaining.

IMO, "The Empire Strikes Back" is still the glue that holds the whole franchise together.

As for the Pirate flicks, i agree. Loved the first one, 2 and 3 were convoluted and way overblown.

Just got back from seeing it with the kids.

It was terrific.

And the very end of the credits is WELL WORTH THE WAIT! I was applauding in the theater.

Yes and yes.

It was good, but it wasn't the be-all-end-off of comic films, IMO. Still, magnitudes better than I ever expected an Iron Man film to be (that's a hard character to pull of, practically speaking)....

Direct lead-in to a sequel, without any kind of cliffhanger. And that sequel's a lock, based on the early weekend totals (should be one of the top 10 openings all time).

Good start for Marvel, in any case. They did the right thing when they chose to start doing their properties themselves, regardless of what happens with Incredible Hulk (which still looks pretty bad to me based on the trailer - we'll see, I'll go see it anyway).

Apparently the script for Thor is phenomenal, the trick is, they need to find a giant muscular dude with acting chops to pull it off - good luck with that...
