(CB) Leigh Bodden, 27
(KR/PR) Justin Miller, 25

I'd take four of them without blinking.
Wright, Weaver, Harris, and Miller. Justin Miller as a pure returnman could be just what this Special Teams needs. He's dangerous and can provide a much needed spark there.

I'd love to have Weaver... Especially if LJ's going to stay (I think he will).
A good young FB like that can help resurrect him. And Matt Cassel's going to need a solid running game to succeed.

I'm not much of a fan of Shaun Cody, but he could figure in if we do switch over to the 3-4.

Bodden's some kind of CB. We've got two young guys I'm extremely satisfied with, but if they just wanted to get better there...Bodden could help.

The Chiefs still have too many holes to try addressing them all in Free Agency. We're still going to need depth at several positions.

Do you understand line play at all?

Dorsey was being asked to play two-gaps, occupy blockers, and free up the LB's. He was asked to do something that is COUNTER-INTUITIVE to rushing the passer.

HE CAN'T DO THAT. Every single one of his scouting reports coming out said he's not good at it. Yet the coaches asked him to do it anyway.

That does not in any way mean he SUCKS. It means he's not good at doing what the coaches asked him to do.

Didnt the whole damn team struggle last year?

Maybe if was due to both the guards being down and the loss of their backup LT (in a most emotional and disturbing manner), Richar Collier.

Think of it as a similar case to that of Javon Walker when he needed to leave Denver for personal reasons. Maybe Barnes was ****ed in the head after that went down. They did play the same position, so it could be possible that he was friends with Collier, and just didnt have it in him last year to play after that.

So, it's either:

1. He didn't generate interest because you have him over-rated.
2. He re-signed during the first 10 days of free-agency with Seattle because that's where he wants to live and play.

Hell, he's gone either way. Not much we can do about it. I think if Pioli thought he was what we needed, we would have gotten him in here somehow.

When I say they D-line sucks I'm not talking about Dorsey he's only played 1 season but the others do indeed suck.

Dude, all I said was that I thought there would be more activity. I'm talking about overall. I'm not talking about big names or even proven commodities. The Pats were known for bringing A LOT of guys. almost 30 of them one year, and I'm surprised there hasn't been more activity. I thought we would be bringing in guys left, and right. Chill.

And I am not a casual fan. I'm pretty hard core, and anyone who knows me will tell you as much. It freaks them out that I'm so crazy about a 2 win team. (I've spent over $500 dollars on jerseys since herm was fired so I could represent my boys on sunday while I bartend.)

The thing is that there weren't many players at the start of free-agency that would consider KC or be available.

Many of the better players were either franchised or re-signed with their own teams. Defensive guys that could help the Chiefs like Canty & Boley signed with the Giants. The lone offensive lineman that I wanted for the Chiefs and tested the market signed with the Rams.

It's silly to signs guys just to sign guys. And I've been predicting since January that the Chiefs would not be "players" in free-agency, yet I've had to remind people of this nearly every day.

Again, no they don't. They MAY suck, but until you have a complete picture you simply can't judge.

Hali had a good first year - led the team in sacks, 4th in the league in forced fumbles. He's regressed since then. Does he suck? Did he only do well because of Jared Allen? How would he play next to better DT play? You and I don't know the answers to these, so we can't say whether or not he sucks.

McBride was a 3T defensive tackle in college. As soon as the Chiefs drafted him, they moved him to DE. Pretty much all of the scouting reports said that was a bad idea, but the Chiefs did it anyway. Does McBride suck at DE because he sucks? Or does he suck at DE because he's a actually a DT that the stupid coaches won't play in his proper position? Again, to many unanswered questions that prevent a simple judgement from being made.

And if you didn't intend to include Dorsey you should have said that, if not in the beginning, at least after he was mentioned by name in responses to you and you still insisted that the entire line sucked.

My free agent list looks like what others have already mentioned. The few that I would favor and hope the Chiefs go after, are in bold.

CB Leigh Bodden, Lions. Age: 27 Best of the free agents available. CB is a strength of the Chiefs but we can always use another good one.

CB Eric Green, Cardinals. Age: 27. Another CB to throw into the mix Has played in 51 games in 4 years with Arizona.

CB Travis Daniels, Browns. Age: 26. Reported that Chiefs were interested in Travis. Looked good as a rookie but play has fallen off since then with some injuries.

QB Kyle Boller, Ravens. Age: 28. Might be worth a look as a 3rd QB Maybe a new team and QB coach could revive his career.

WR Reggie Williams, Jaguars. Age: 26. Good size and blocking skills. Has caught 189 passes for 2,322 yards and 18 touchdowns in 4 years with Jacksonville. His recent DWI and marijuana possession charge would require an inexpensive contract with some motivation incentives.

WR Bobby Engram, Seahawks. Age: 36 Can still be productive and a team leader.

WR Marty Booker, Bears. Age: 33. Had his most productive years with Todd Haley coaching him in Chicago.

OT Khalif Barnes, Jaguars. Age: 27. Would he play right tackle for right tackle money?

OT Mark Tauscher, Packers. Age: 32. Would be an upgrade at right tackle position.
OT Rob Petitti, Rams. Age: 27. Showed some promise with Dallas as a rookie but has struggled with injury and lack of play since then. Did not play any last year with an Achilles tendon tear in the off-season. Might be worth a an inexpensive low risk contract.

DT/DE Shaun Cody, Lions. Age: 26. Add to the defensive line mix.

DT/DE Mike Wright, Patriots. Age: 27. Still young and can play DE or DT.

LB Marcus Washington, Redskins. Age: 31. Health concerns now but can be a productive LB.

LB Marques Harris, Chargers. Age: 27.

LB Clark Haggans, Cardinals. Age: 32. Chiefs are supposed to be talking with.

LB Rocky Boiman, Chiefs. Age: 29. Can be a productive backup and special teams player.

LB Angelo Crowell, Bills. Age: 28. Good LB but can he return from knee injury?

ILB Eric Barton, Jets. Age: 31.

ILB Mike Peterson, Jaguars. Age: 33.

ILB Pat Thomas, Chiefs. Age: 26.

The Chiefs need to build a youthful core. They now have their "Captains" on offense and defense. They need to continue to build through the draft and as I've stated several times, I'd be absolutely shocked if they didn't trade back at least once (if not twice) in the first round to acquire more picks.

This is a banner year for offensive lineman (and not too shabby for WR's) and there's no way the Chiefs play Cassel behind Niswanger, Jones and Sackintosh.
