Why did Miami do this deal?

Yes, most of us don’t care about other teams. But if you do, explain their rationale. It doesn’t make any sense on its face. You never say never in the NFL but does anyone think they can possibly win the division over Buffalo? Does anyone think this makes them better than NE?

1). BetUS moves Miami all the way up to 11th in the AFC, tied with Vegas at +3500 to win the SB. The Chiefs didn’t even budge, going from +800 to +850:
https://www.betus.com.pa/miscellaneo...k&promo=FLURRY

2). Vegas Insider puts them at 17th now to win SB:
https://www.vegasinsider.com/nfl/odds/las-vegas/

This means they’re still a few slots away from even getting a WC road game. And they gave up a lot of draft capital and salary for the privilege. If Indy or Arizona or Dallas etc did this deal it makes sense.

Are they just desperate to make a splash?

The point is, a drafted QB is supposed to be the foundation to give you a leg up, not a point to settle into the easy chair and say 'we did it' everything's fine now. We have the thing that will fix everything we neglect from here on out.

Buildng a winning franchise is a comprehensive effort, and if you aren't maximizing your potential, you're squandering it as it ages and gets richer and accumulated injuries.

Aside from his cap hit, there is nothing about acquiring Mahomes that says anyone in the building gets to take a breath and take it easy. And that's the problem I've been critical of. And the more time passes, the more his cap hit erodes our capacity to compensate top-level talent and effort, so pursuing excellence becomes a time-intesified endeavor as soon as you have that component that makes you a potential champion.

And none of that merits your tact with me. But I'm not your daddy, comport yourself as you see fit.
Who, specifically, is doing that?

They had to do something to keep their fan base engaged after the legal issues with the last coach and a possible swing and miss on Tua. This was otherwise a terrible trade for them. Imagine what they could've had with the pics they gave up.

On another note, most of the amazing plays that Hill made in KC were a product of a QB capable of chucking the ball 60 yards in the air off his back foot or on the run. Tua isn't that same type of QB, so it'll be interesting to see how Hill produces there.

I say it's a conspiracy. The AFC west and the bills sat down and said we have to weaken the chiefs. Where can we send tyreek hill? Jets or dolphins!

I doubt the plan was to get the Chiefs 5 picks for a WR. No matter how good that receiver is his game still relies on his QBs ability and last I checked the Chiefs still have Mahomes.

Yeah it really could hurt hill's legacy. He could've finished his career as a legend. Now he'll waste away with mediocre quarterback play.

Considering the speed MIA now has on offense and the focus on adding playmakers and an addition to the OL, what is the O/U (games played) on them getting frustrated with Tua and moving to Teddy B?
