Bills/ Bengals [cancelled - process in OP]

In case anyone needs it spelled out, we would play at a neutral site if the AFCCG ends up being Chiefs vs. Bills. All other scenarios abide by the usual rules (so any other game the Chiefs play will be at home).

As of now, there is a 3:30 pm central divisional round game on CBS which likely means an afc matchip.

Here's an idea: Play week 18 as scheduled. If chiefs beat the Faid and Buffalo beats the Pats then chiefs & bills flip a coin. The winner gets to choose bye (1 seed) or home field. You can choose one or the other but not both. So say the chiefs win the toss and choose bye - they'll get the 1 seed & a first round bye, but buffalo gets home field if the 2 teams play.

Note: The same can also be done to determine where the game between Buffalo & cincy is played should they meet in the playoffs.

I think that's the fairest way to approach things without turning everything into a scheduling cluster**** or totally screwing one team.

Of course you'd choose BYE over the #1 seed. There's a good likelihood the Bills lose one of their first two playoff games before even facing the Chiefs. Same applies vice versa. The BYE is more important than having home field against an opponent that might not even make the AFCCG.

This is especially true because the Bengals are a legit contender. Someone has to face them in the Divisional round.

Chicken or egg.

Do they have brain damage from jumping through tables? Or do they jump through tables because they have brain damage?

Bro, **** that. That’s not fair, and it’s punishing KC for doing nothing but playing every game they were supposed to play. KC didn’t opt out, and they shouldn’t be put in a predicament like that. Let the Bills and Bengals flip a coin for who won the game they both decided not to finish, and don’t want to make up. Sounds like they don’t even want to play their normal scheduled games this weekend either. Sucks the guy got hurt, and I’m hoping for a full recovery. But it’s time to grow a set and get back to it.

You can't let the teams or players have input on this, because they don't necessarily have the best interest of the sport in mind. The league office exists to protect the sport.
Come on. This isn't going to become a regular thing. Coaches and owners would be absolutely excoriated. Players would lose respect for their organizations and that would have longer lasting adverse impacts on the team. And there's value to getting tape on second and third string guys in actual NFL games action.

The good teams already sit their starters to get an effective bye. And any owner sitting his players to save a single game of payroll or to reduce the chances of incentive bonuses hitting would be run out of the league.

There is a pretty obvious self-correcting mechanism here that woudn't allow for this.

Play the game or forfeit the game. This coin flip talk is BS and just about the most unfair of all the bad solutions.

Doesn’t Apple have netting around their buildings to prevent suicides? I think Amazon has a cry booth, maybe the Bills can get one of those.
