I'm alternate day fasting. Ask me anything
Down 45 pounds and hit a plateau. Couldn't move the scales so I decided to alternate day fast and it seems to have triggered the next level of weight loss.

1 week in.

Fasted Monday, Wednesday, Friday. Plan to graze in the pasture this weekend and start over Monday.

Are the fasting days hellish or no? Do you just eat whatever the hell you want on the non-fasting days or is there some form of discipline there?

Once you get past the initial hunger pain it goes away. Went to bed a little hungry last night but today I had two cups of coffee black and I'm not even hungry. May wait until this afternoon to even eat. Just got back from a 5 mile walk and energy level is great.

As far as food I only eat "Whole foods" nothing processed , out of a can , bag or box for the most part.

I do 24 hour fasts.

There is a hormone that gets released right around the time you usually eat and it makes you feel hungry (sometimes starving) but it eventually goes away after you don't eat and you feel totally fine.

Some people have to be careful with blood sugar drops and feeling lightheaded, though. For whatever reason, I have not had those issues so far.

I dropped 40lbs in 3 months with a balanced diet of 1600-2000 a day with some cycling and walking , that was tough enough not sure I could do the fasting stuff .

I'm at a healthy weight but I have been reading more and more about other benefits of intermittent fasting. Are the days you fast just hellish or is it not so bad?
