The pistol really isnt much more than the spread, actually the main focus is taking a snap 2 yards closer than the shotgun. Its a faster pace and less reaction time for the defense. Of course the Qb runs a bit more, but even harbough only runs concept of the read option. Alex does have the arm to run it, is he as athletic as Kaper and RG111. No but he was recruited by Meyer as a running QB. He never threw the ball in Highschool. I saw most of his games. Meyer said he knew he had the smarts to teach him to throw (yes add your jokes) but its true. He was a running Qb.
