General thought is to take the relative position for next year's pick and move it down a full round for the current year "point value".
Personally, I don't think that works terribly well with a projected top 10 pick for the next year (which obviously depends on that particular teams' projection for current season). It's just a general approach. I'd think a projected Top10 pick next year should downgrade maybe half it's value rather than a whole round. Now that I look at the chart, moving down a full round (other than the top 1/2 of 1st round) is a bit < half the pt value, so it's fairly close to that. |
