If he plays like today, he's a guy that could easily lead this team going forward.

I'm as critical as anybody when Alex doesn't play well. But today is the type of play his critics want to see on a regular basis. He wasn't just a game manager today. And while he missed two key throws on one drive, he also put the nail in the coffin with an excellent slant throw to ice the game which was one of the biggest plays in the game.
