Chiefs draft notes from Terez/Robinson podcast
Just listened to Terez and Robinson on the Yahoo Sports podcast.

- Robinson heard from 2 different sources that the Chiefs have been kicking the tires on a lot of potential 1st round round WR’s. Specifically mentioned Reagor and Shenault.

- Terez said the Chiefs will go IOL early (first 2 days) and watch out for Cesar Ruiz after a trade down.

- Terez likes Dobbins and has heard the Chiefs are interested as well, but they also really like DeAndre Washington.

- The bottom line is the Chiefs are going to “pump up the asset of Mahomes” early.

There's two guys there worthy of being top 10 picks, and you can make a case for 3-4 guys in the 1st round at least.

By all accounts this seems to be a pretty damn deep draft.

If he can just become a rotational 6-8 sack DL, then it becomes a decent pick.

Not a great move, but he was still drafted 46 overall. Plenty of guys in that range achieve far less.

I will be on board with what Brett and Andy decide. That said if Chiefs don't seriously upgrade interior O line if I am Mahomes no discount. The chances of injuries are just too great IMO.

It makes sense for a number of reasons. While its easy to point out perceived needs, future proofing the team is as important as anything. This team may be the most intact Super Bowl winner I can remember, so they have the luxury to literally have the freedom to take just about anybody they want, vs filling holes.

So if they can get a guy to be a returner as he learns the route tree to be an eventual replacement for a guy like Sammy, that's a pretty seamless transition in a year or so.

I will say I would like to see them get Ruiz, I think he makes a lot of sense.
