Bills/ Bengals [cancelled - process in OP]

In case anyone needs it spelled out, we would play at a neutral site if the AFCCG ends up being Chiefs vs. Bills. All other scenarios abide by the usual rules (so any other game the Chiefs play will be at home).

Breaking News: Of course the game is secondary to #DamarHamlin’s health, but #Bills insider @viccarucci just reported on @wgrz Daybreak that NFL commissioner Roger Goodell will make the call on rescheduling the Bills/Bengals game and it would have to be played within 2 days.

After speaking with both teams and NFLPA leadership, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell informed the clubs today that the Bills-Bengals game will not be resumed this week.

The NFL has made no decision regarding the possible resumption of the game at a later date.

This is going to happen anyways. That's why backdooring our way into the 1 seed may not even matter. Even if we get the 1 seed because this game is cancelled, if Buffalo or Cincy come to town literally the entire world is going be against the Chiefs. Fans, the league, the refs, they won't say it but the unconscious bias everyone's going to have will be tough.

Kinda seems like a pretty minor thing from the Chiefs perspective, no?

I think this makes sense from the NFL's perspective. They're not quite sure what to do right now and they hope the play this weekend answers some questions. Before there was a chance the Chiefs lose to the Raiders and then the Bills have nothing to play for/sit some of their starters and that gifts a win to the Patriots. Now all of these teams is incentivized to play at full strength.

We should be pretty happy with this outcome because our Saturday scheduling disadvantage has at least for now been rendered moot.

If the Chiefs get the #1 seed in part because of this, we'll call it 1/17th, then that's just the way the cookie crumbles. There is nothing to get upset about. If the Tigers and Bills don't like it...embrace the suck.

That game will determine 2/3 seed and potential HFA in the AFCCG.

No it's not and I was joking a little bit about the refs but that's going to be the narrative here I'm sure. But it's true that the best narrative is going to be the Bills going all the way for their teammate. If we get the 1 seed that's great but if we end up having to go to Buffalo and beat them let's go do it. We have a team that can do it and then no one can make excuses.
