Well for one thing, this isn’t necessarily true. Perhaps by being spread too thin doing the job of two people, he wasn’t able to realize his full potential as HC/GM.

Reid had great success when he was in charge of personnel anyway so it’s a shit argument. He went to 5 NFCCGs in 10 years or something ridiculous.

You can say that in terms of the overall success of the team, Reid is important, my point is that your choice of words really downplays Veach's eye for talent.
Here you go again with that “you’re acting like..” shit. You interpreted my simple assessment as downplaying what Veach does because you’re a loon.

No doubt about it.

In a purely hypothetical situation, let’s say Reid and Veach have a falling out and can no longer work together.

I’m 100% rolling with Reid over Veach.

There's absolutely nothing controversial about Andy being more important than Veach in the grand scheme of thing.

I'm Veach's biggest fan, and even I don't find that controversial whatsoever.

You know exactly what you were doing, and now you're playing stupid. You were responding to a post defending Veach by downplaying his role in the teams success.

It's one thing to say a great HC is more important than a great GM, because that's actually what the truth is.

What you said downplays just how great of a GM Veach is and his importance though.

It's like saying "I know I'm going to say something controversial, but Mahomes is more important than Kelce to our success with his ability to get the most out of the guys around him."

The controversial part isn't that Mahomes is more important, it's the downplaying of a HOF TE that we clearly wouldn't have been able to accomplish all that we have without him.

Yea, just ignore literally everything else in that post and pretend I don't have a clear point I'm trying to make here.

Let me ask a simple question.

How many different GMs in the league are there that you think we could have this level of success with? Not just success, I'm talking 5 straight AFCCGs, 3 SBs, 2 rings, etc. while turning the roster over completely during that time frame, and possibly not even peaking until now.

If your answer is more than handful at best, you are absolutely downplaying Veach's role. I'm not even sure that it's more than 2-3.

Roseman and Lynch for sure.

Belichick, Baalke, Jerry Jones, DeCosta, Newsome, John Dorsey and Chris Grier would be decent bets.

Belichick could never dream of drafting as well as Veach has the last few years.

He can't find ****ing talent anywhere in the draft. Veach probably drafts better on day 3 than Belichick does on days 1 & 2

I don't really care how good Cole Strange actually is.

That was the most face****ingly stupid pick I've seen in the back end of a first round in several years.

That's Belichick the GM doing his job with his ego, not his brain.

As soon as that happens, your GM needs to be replaced.

Lynch?!? The same Lynch that traded THREE first round picks FOR Trey Lance?!? That Lynch?

The same Lynch that literally passed on Patrick ****ing Mahomes for Solomon Thomas? You think he'd have done as good of a job as the guy who literally pounded the table for Pat to be drafted?

How many Super Bowls have the Niners won under Lynch's leadership?

FFS, man, have some pride. This is pathetic.

Trezelle Jenkins was worse, but your point holds.

I mean, for the most part everyone has been. Unless you're one of the fools that blame Jawaan Taylor for being singled out and targeted by the league.
