If Brett Veach had Belichick's drafts the last 5 years, every single person on this forum would want him fired, and we wouldn't be sitting here with 2 rings.

Pat and Andy would've been great enough to probably get 1, but you aren't getting 2 with that drafting combined with all the turnover we've had over those 5 years.

The Seahawks traded him off, found promise in Geno, and got better.

Just a fantastic move by Schneider, aided of course by a great coaching staff.

In the coach/GM combo, the Seahawks are in my top four in the league, alongside the 49ers, Chiefs, and Steelers.
The Seahawks got better because they finally dropped their dead weight at QB. And they KNEW he was dead weight. Hence why they'd tried to dump him in 2018 and a few times since. Again, give them credit for the fleecing. Nice move. But they also wasted 5 YEARS on a QB they'd already decided wasn't in their long term plans but couldn't pull the trigger to get off the roster.

Make no mistake about it, they are 2 different jobs.

He's just proof that a great HC can keep a bad GM from getting fired for a very long time.
He's had a few draft hits, so it's not totally barren, but it's not been great.

“Definitely they tried to, a couple of times, tried to see what was out there,’’ Wilson said, per ESPN’s Jeff Legwold. “It’s part of the business, being a professional and everything else … I believe in my talents, of who I am, I feel I’m one of the best in the world.”

Yeah, I'm sorry, but if a GM wastes THAT long on a QB they really don't believe in, that's just poor management.

None of that is wrong, but for the record they did win a Super Bowl, built a few Super Bowl competitive teams around him, and maybe they stuck with him a year longer than they should have.

I just can't fault him given what they were able to accomplish. I thought that John Dorsey was as good at GM as Veach is now, and he had Alex Smith for his entire run.

4k and 40 td's isn't dead weight. Come on bro.

They were sniffing around cause the dude is a weird psycho, but when he was in his prime he was a really good QB.

What would you call 2 hits out of 13 1st/2nd/3rd round picks?

You call that fired. Because that's what happening to any GM who does that that isn't also a great HC.

That happened a decade ago. Great team, not trying to discredit it. But again, we're talking about GMs stepping in around that relative timeframe where Dorsey quit, and the names that keep popping up have a shoddy at best track record in that timeframe.

People are having a really hard time understanding that part.

And I honestly can't even believe we're still hearing John Dorseys name in these discussions. He has a great eye for talent. Undeniable. That makes him a great scout, not a great GM. There's a reason why he's been relegated to advisory roles and can't get hired to run the show anymore.

The only other person in this league who has pulled good corners out of his ass is Bill. Time and time again he does it. Speaking of...his first rd corner this year is a goddamn stud.

Uche, Barmore, Dugger. All very good players who are ascending. His FA's like Judon are very good. I also like Hunter Henry a ton, but again his QB sucks.

This league is filled with good teams that aren't good bc of their QB. The Patriots are one of them.

He's not a bottom 5 GM. I can name others who are far worse

Weird. I could have sworn I included designations for BelichickHC and BelichickGM for that very reason..

And I’m not acknowledging the drafts because my point has always been that the strength of the dynasty was in the HC-QB combo. You bring BelichickGM over here and I bet you his drafts instantly start looking better thanks to Reid and Mahomes.

Same number of All-Pros and Pro Bowls. Wow. Checkmate, atheists.

Maybe BelichickGM wouldn’t have even traded Tyreek. Didja ever think of that?

Come on, dude. They had a 20-year dynasty. You cannot attribute that kind of success to Carroll and Brady lol

Unless you think Brady is just that much better than P Manning, Marino, Brees, Rodgers, etc.

What. Dugger is very good. That's about it. Uche and Barmore have been rotational players at best for multiple seasons up to this point. That's fine for second rounders but doesn't make them very good.

I've posted the last few drafts.

I've explained that he let Jacobi Meyers walk while paying JuJu similar money knowing his knee is ****ed.

I posted the tweet showing that he had 13 day 1 & 2 picks between 2018 to 2020, and he hit on ****ing TWO.

You name 3 good players, and you think that disproves all this other shit?

Who drafted that QB you keep using as an excuse Run?
