TwistedChief said it best that being a visitor here is like warding off wave after wave of zombies. Just constant reinforcements coming out of the woodwork to spout off the same exhausting tropes. I'm convinced it's a bit at this point. Most civilized places online would laugh at you for calling Lamar Jackson a running back at this point, but the creatures here say it with their chest out. This place is a throwback to the Wild West days of message boards. Just good old fashion nasty work being done by true internet ghouls. ![]() |

But definitely applies vice versa. It's why Lamar is 19-1 against NFC teams and why two of our three losses this year were against AFC North teams. The uniqueness/degree of difficulty defending Lamar goes up if you don't see him very often. |

The Rams offense is honestly just good. They're not loaded, but the Stafford/Puka/Kyren/Kupp combination works. Stafford was making incredible timing throws that game and the receivers were coming down with everything. It was also a rainy game too, which can throw a wrench in things.
That Rams and the the second half against the Browns when they came back with Watson were the only times this defense has looked vulnerable. Those are the game plans I would be copying if I was the Chiefs' offense. Edit: To add, the Rams established the run early. The Ravens have almost invariably been one of the best run defenses in the NFL for many years, but this year they're middle of the pack there. It's by design and has come with the benefit of having the lowest YPA through the air. But they can be had there, and the Rams set that tone early which opened things up for them. The FLOOR for a Mahomes-QB'd season is losing in OT of the AFC championship game. Chiefs fans have seen Mahomes elevate his own roster over more "complete" teams with less at QB time and again. They have seen him win healthy, they have seen him win injured. They have seen him win lighting up opposing teams with the passing game. They have seen him lighting up opposing teams with clutch play after clutch. They won the Super Bowl against two teams that were "stacked" and more complete and better than KC, with indomitable defenses that were purported to be capable of shutting Mahomes down. He faced one of them with a badly sprained ankle that he re-sprained in the first half. So yeah, of course, on their OWN message board, Chiefs fans are confident in his ability and point to him as a reason they are confident. He has performed miracles on the football field for this team time and again, enough that if we were talking Catholisiscm here, you could apply for his Sainthood many times over. The Ravens are at home and have a better all-around roster. They have a star QB, and a strong defense. Most of the Chiefs fans here and most of the discussion in this thread before Ravens fans dipped their toes in was about how this was a tough game and a coin flip, with many even saying the odds are with the Ravens. And I'll leave with again sharing with you the history of this BB in the Mahomes era: 1. Chiefs make AFC title game or Super Bowl 2. Opposing fans start showing up 3. Opposing fans start out nice, then get surprised the Chiefs fans here are supremely confident 4. Opposing fans start chirping about whatever their perceived edge is (19 Titans: Derrick Henry + beating KC in regular season; 19 49ers: Stacked roster, #1 defense; 20 Bills: stacked roster, alien QB, #1 defense, hot team; 21 Bills: stacked roster, alien QB, #1 defense, revenge; 22 Bengals: stacked offense, defense that has Reid/Mahomes' number, alien QB with edge on Mahomes, Mahomes is hurt; 22 Eagles: stacked offense, alien QB, #1 defense) 5. Chiefs fans respond by saying "oh, this again." and point to the history of knocking off these teams with the perceived edge 6. Chiefs go win, anyway. It's old hat. Final statement: Of opposing fans who have found their way here and gone through this cycle, you have the potential to stick around and have fun no matter the outcome. That's rare. Now go chug some antifreeze and throw yourself into a flaming dumpster filled with AIDS needles.

Limited from Gay is a good sign - seems like he's recovering (rather than a DNP).
