**** NO! Tony has always put this team ahead of him. Frankly you're being a dick, if you truly liked him before as you claim. Everyone has their moments and this is the only one he has ever had. Then again you would have to actually ****ing appreciate what he has done for us for the last 10+ years, game in and game out, to have the view I do I guess.
Has he given any more than Brian Waters?

I don't see Brian running to Carl's office asking for a trade just because things aren't going well right now.

Waters isn't going to the Hall. Waters hasn't broken every record at his position. Waters isn't a superstar in the league. Waters isn't an entertainer.

TG is all those things. There's a difference between those two cats. I like Waters. I think he's a good soldier. But, he's not looking for the same things Gonzo's looking for out of life.

So basically what you are saying, is that because TG plays a more glamorous position, he's worth more to the team?

That's what's great about offensive linemen.

They know that they are the 5 most important players on the field, and don't bitch a bit about the lack of recognition they get.

Will Shields played here for what, 14 years?

Does Tony Gonzalez deserve a chance at a ring more than Will ****ing Shields?

If Tony wanted a ring that badly, he shouldn't have signed a new deal. It's not like he signed, THEN Herm was hired.

What you have to realize is that Tony didn't want to leave. He's said many times that he wanted to retire a Chief.

The other thing I would urge you to consider is that not all guys are the same. Waters is a different breed of cat compared to TG. They have different roles and different goals.

Personally, I feel badly for all the guys who have played for us through the years. I particularly feel badly for all the guys we've drafted recently knowing that, in all likelihood, they'll never sniff a Super Bowl with this organization. I've said many times how much I regret all the wasted talent that has gone through this franchise at all positions.

I don't feel bad for them one bit.

They are being paid millions of dollars to play a kid's game.

Not everyone gets to hold the Lombardi Trophy.

Hell, some guys don't win more than four games a year, eh?

What could they possibly be pissed about?

Yet we don't see half the league asking to be traded, now do we?

Why are you a fan then, Mr. OnTheWarpath58? Just to watch guys run around on grass in colorful, tight pants? With all respect, you don't make much sense, sometimes.

The "goal" is to win the Super Bowl. That's how the whole deal is organized and all.

I'm a fan of the team ahead of any single player.

See the quote by Herb Brooks in my sig.

I think if players took that quote to heart, the game would be a hell of a lot better.

Dude you are not EVEN comparing Waters to TG are you? For real? You are doing that with a straight face?

You have to be shitting yourself to think I would buy that comparison for a New York minute.

Yes, TG has given a lot more than Waters has. Is Waters the best G to ever play the game??? He couldn't hold Shields' jock.

You are a ****ing idiot.

Yes Tony is one of the best ever to play the game at his position.

But he also was blessed with talent that made him a top 20 pick in the draft, and he has lived up to expectations.

Waters, on the hand, was not blessed with that same God given talent.

He was undrafted, bounced from team to team, and position to position, and through sheer determination and effort, became one of the better players at his position.

He may not be one of the best ever, but he damn sure gave every bit as much of himself as did Tony, if not more.

You could also add Kimble Anders, TRich, and Dan Williams.

All guys easily overachieved and got the stinky end of the stick when it came to carl. These are guys who for the most part didn't raise Cain or complain about much, they just went out and produced.

Hell, if anything, I'm sick over Shields not getting a ring...
