Chiefs Bringing In LB Sean Weatherspoon and S Earl Thomas For Visits

http://www.arrowheadpride.com/2010/3...ing-in-lb-sean

The Kansas City Chiefs are getting to work on their private visits in preparation for the NFL Draft in late April. We've learned the names of two first round prospects the Chiefs will be bringing to town -- Mizzou LB Sean Witherspoon and Texas S Earl Thomas.

Both are being reported by Scout.com (via WtexKC)

I think these two workouts are interesting because both would likely be available in the middle of the first round. Perhaps a trade down? The Chiefs are just being prepared.

A little more info on each player after the jump.

Sean Weatherspoon

Witherspoon is a local guy so a lot of people know him. He's 6'1", 239 pounds and a lot of folks have him going to the Atlanta Falcons in the first round.

I've heard him described as a better fit for a 4-3 than a 3-4.

He's rated the third overall linebacker by NFL Draft Scout.

The Chiefs will also have a local pro day for guys from Mizzou so I'm not sure how Weatherspoon fits into that.

Chiefs GM Scott Pioli went to Mizzou's game against Nebraska in Columbia last season. I remember he talked about it on one of the local radio stations the next day and mentioned that there was a great defensive player on both sides of the field (Suh and Weatherspoon?).

Earl Thomas

Thomas is coming out of Texas and is 5'10", 208 pounds.

He's generally the second ranked safety behind Eric Berry but interestingly Mike Mayock of NFL Network had him above Berry.

He's another guy that could be available in the middle-to-end of the first round.

(H/T WtexKC for the first FanShots)

I have pouncey going to the saints, but he could fall. Hughes, I just don't see going in the first. Probably earlier in the second than I have him at.

Unfortunately Pioli is going to draft Baluga -- the real Lethal Weapon. He'll kill fan enthusiasm dead.

Only for armchair GMs. Most fans will care about an improved product on the field. I think we are building that.

I'd create a True Fan alter ego. Something akin to The Meat Dragon.

I'd probably call him "The Cock Skink".

I'd devote entire threads to bashing TCS, and others defending Pioli.

Most likely it would rend the fabric of spacetime and every molecule in my body would explode at the speed of light.

The Chiefs draft will be amazingly pathetic if they don't come away with offensive linemen and WRs who can contribute immediately next season.

This board is a toilet. People post about taking a crap and ask the same stupid questions over and over again.

Very little football talk.

This is a battle that Direckshun and I ( and a couple others) fought to no avail a couple of years ago.

This. I never really understood why we have a secondary forum for the draft. I spend very little time there. This is not a repost for me. If I find any draft news I will post them in the Lounge.

who would have thought you would have to go to a sub forum on the board to talk football. Only Chiefsplanet where the most stupid shit it talked about.
