***OFFICIAL head coaching search thread***

So who are we going to bring in to replace Haley?

Who do you like? Do you want experienced candidates? Someone fresh and young?

Potential candidates:

Jeff Fisher
Kirk Ferentz
Josh McDaniels
Marty Schottenheimer
Mike Zimmer
Andy Reid
Jay Gruden
Rick Dennison
Todd Bowles
Rob Ryan
Dom Capers
Brian Billick
Jon Gruden
Pepper Johnson
Kevin Gilbride

NEWS

Nick Wright: Pioli believes McDaniels isn't a viable option, and Fisher is but won't offer Jeff big bucks is the bad news

The Bleacher Report?

I never once called you an idiot. Sure he might be a good college coach somewhere else but he's nowhere near NFL ready.

He is a consensus top 10 coach among college coaches... combine that with his youth and he makes for a very enticing NFL candidate.
However he might be a good coach, I want one of these guys that already has a SHIT ton of nfl head coach experience.

yes two of those are from Bleacher Report.. which is less then reputable... but I just grabbed the first 3 I saw without wanting to take anymore time on an argument that seems to be going nowhere.

He is more than a GOOD college coach.. he is top 10 and I think he is worth giving a shot on the NFL level... although I could see him trying his hand as a DC somewhere first.. but I really think he will be a better head coach then a coordinator.

And that is a valid argument... if you want a young coach with a huge upside but a huge risk... go with someone like Fitz.. but yeah if that isn't what you want then I can see why he wouldn't be on your radar.

If the coach is told he has to have Cassel you aren't getting a coach with NFL head coaching experience.

Chudzinski is a interesting candidate, but I'd rather not. He needs more time to season as a coordinator, and I'd rather them not pluck another one year wonder offensive dude.

You are very wrong. Compare the talent he has worked with to Rex or Schwartz, and also consider he's been getting very good results in a difficult division. Unlike Haley, this dude is ready to be a leader.

Another plus, he already has experience dealing with a cheap ass owner.

If this is actually Todds plan, he needs to be ****ing fired the moment they return from Denver.

Denver rookie QB John Elway, on Jack Lambert, after Lambert and the Steelers knocked Elway out of his first game as a pro (1983).

I'd like to add to the list a few guys that should EVENTUALLY get a shot at the NFL level and I would love to see with the Chiefs in some capacity.

Kevin Sumlin - still needs a few years of success as head coach at a major program

Brady Hoke - needs to keep on the path he started this year... if U-M is back to being in the title hunt for the next couple years, he'll be in high demand.

I already mentioned Will Muschamp

It could EASILY be argued that he is the best coach in the NFL this year.

I would kill to get the next Jim Harbaugh.

Harbaugh's kind of a different story, though. He was just resume building in the college ranks.

Most of these guys crash and burn in the NFL is all I'm saying.
