I wonder if Reid Ferrin had a fun day on twitter?

I wondered the same thing. People got kicked out for Fire Pioli signs yet he gets to wear that hideous tie. Ridiculous.

I think the movement needs to give attention to Marty Shitsintheplayoffsheimer. He is Clarks biggest influence right now.

Guy on 610 put a Fire Pioli sign on his truck window and got 20-30 honks and people flagging him down. Talking about all the stats on the back of the page. SOC is the news today. We will be the pall bearers for the coffin that contains Scott Pioli's career in KC.

I wonder if he would have taped it to the inside of his locked truck, while he went inside to the game, if they would have towed his truck away?:banghead:

From that first "get a clue" tweet during the first week until now... has been amazing. To think that we are [thisclose] to getting Pioli fired, is amazing.

I folded about 50-75 in half... then put them behind my back, tucked into my pants and then I secured the belt.

Then they gave us a color folder with both teams rosters on it... which was perfect to slide my flyers into. I was able to distribute them ALL game. We didn't sit in the same seat longer than 10 minutes. My son had a blast finding places to put these flyers. A couple of these flyers will be found when they do their next stadium renovation. mwhahahah

Ok, so I am home now.

At about 11:20 or so, Phobia came up to me and handed me a fat stack of flyers and said lets go to town. I started handing out tons of flyers and eventually was approached by two members of the KCPD. One of them, Officer Moore, told me I could not solicit and asked for my ID. I politely told him that I was not soliciting and that I did not have to present my ID to him.

He again stated he wanted my ID and I once again declined his request informing him that this was not a Terry stop therefore I did not have to produce identification. He stated that I did indeed have to produce ID because he asked for it. I once again declined. He then stated he would have me escorted off the property for not producing ID which elicited the same reply that this is not a Terry stop so therefore I did not have to produce ID.

After a bit of back and forth (10 minutes?), he called his supervisor over. When the SGT came up, about 10 minutes later, he was really nice and told me that I was not allowed to pass out flyers. By that time, it was already 11:52 and I would be heading into the game anyhow so it was no big deal for me to put the flyers away and go on in.

He followed me back to the tailgate where I dropped off the remaining flyers and went into the game with no problem. I personally did not see anyone have their flyers taken away from them but heard multiple people talking about it on the concourse.

So that is my little story. Funny... I thought for sure I was going to get the boot.

Excerpt: Cincinnati Enquirer
The game was so uniformly depressing for the locals, they’d have needed to attend a funeral to cheer up. Fortunately, lots of them were already wearing black. At least those who bothered to show up. They announced the crowd at 63,336. That was comical, and about 20,000 empties short of the truth.

An organization called Save Our Chiefs urged the few who did attend to wear black. “The color of mourning,’’ the movement’s founder explained to the Kansas City Star. Most of the tiny crowd obliged, giving Arrowhead Stadium the look of a mausoleum, only moreso.

The fans came ready to boo QB Matt Cassel at every appropriate opportunity. He obliged. Cassel threw for all of 93 yards before being benched in the third quarter. It wasn’t all Cassel’s fault. The Chiefs had two rookies starting on the offensive line, and no receivers capable of beating single coverage.

Excerpt: USA Today Sports
The Chiefs' once-raucous home venue was only about half-full most of the game, and a good portion of those who showed up were dressed in black - a grass roots effort organized by fans who have been trying to pressure team ownership to clean out the front office.

"I focus on the game. I don't get into the crowd," Chiefs coach Romeo Crennel said.

Perhaps he should have let his eyes wander.

What happened on the field couldn't have put him in a good mood.
http://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/nfl/2012/11/18/bengals-chiefs/1712597

USA Today Sports front page is running a story that shows the Kansas City Star Obit on Mr. Lickteig.
"Loren G. "Sam" Lickteig passed away on Nov. 14, 2012 of complications from MS and heartbreaking disappointment caused by the Kansas City Chiefs football team," the obit reads. Chris Strauss, USA Today Sports adds, "Whether that great line was the work of Mr. Lickteig or his surviving kin, we offer our applause along with our condolences."

Strauss passes the story along to Gannett's local and national reach.

Exactly what charges were they going to press? It is NOT illegal to pass out handbills in public (so long as they aren't commercial in nature). As a matter of fact there is plenty of precedent protecting the activity.

For those who claim that Arrowhead's parking lot is "private property".. doesn't matter. Not one single bit. It is considered a "public space" just like a shopping mall... something the courts have ruled on many times in the past.

Now, that being said, it doesn't mean some idiot cop won;t arrest you and then take the heat for it later... but it does mean that you are protected legally if you want to go that route.

My guess is that security started to back down after someone with the Chiefs contacted their attorneys and they were told they'd be in deep shite if they actually took any action.

How about we all text "Fire Pioli" at kickoff of next weeks game to the Arrowhead text hotline? We then text Fire Pioli constantly through the game?

Text messaging is an additional line of communication on day of game to report fan conduct or stadium issues more clearly and confidentially Text "CHIEFS" YOUR LOCATION AND ISSUE TO 69050. Standard SMS rates apply. Fans can text during the game, three hours prior to kickoff and 30 minutes postgame from any cell phone

Yeah, we threw wrappers everywhere... FirePioli signs in the bathroom troughs... on top of the HOF displays... in cracks of walls... on the floor... by concessions stands... on the stairs as we would go down to a new seat...

If you sent money earlier this year, you may want to consider donating again, just one more time. We're getting attention now, we got a lot of airtime on CBS and a lot of stories this week, but it seems like there could be a chance that Pioli might not get fired this week. SoC only has money to fly one more banner, and they will need more money to fly banners for the two home games after Denver.

Lets finish with banners every week for at least the last few home games we got this year, then if Clark does not fire Pioli, we can move on to season ticket non-renewals for next year.

Very rare do I agree with CR, but I agree with this assessment. You now have the media on your side, use that to your advantage, since it's much better alternative, as well as social media like Facebook and Twitter and other things.

Continue to pump out the Blackout at Arrowhead message as often as possible. I would imagine after this reports of Pioli's SS terrorizing some people (unjustifed), some will convert to the blackout.

Understand that when people jump your shit for this post, the very last line is what's going to get their attention. That's a bigger insult than any you will hear in return. If going to Arrowhead didn't feel like attending a damned funeral, folks wouldn't have to dress like that's what they were doing. Period. If people choose to take that a different way, well it would help if they had their facts straight. I'd say they should get a clue.

I sat EVERYWHERE... sat in the top bowl for the first quarter... moved all around, putting Fire Pioli signs under trash can lips, so they would be seen and not blown away... We walked and sat in various seat in the top bowl... then midway through the second quarter, we moved to the lower level.

Yeah, we threw wrappers everywhere... FirePioli signs in the bathroom troughs... on top of the HOF displays... in cracks of walls... on the floor... by concessions stands... on the stairs as we would go down to a new seat...

The only thing missing was "Save Our Chiefs" chants... If I'd of had some duct tape, it would have been even more effective.

Well, I saw somebody throw a bunch of crap in the air in my section so I'm just wonder if it was you. I was in section 345.

'Disrespectful'?

Are you fucking kidding me? Is Romeo suddenly my father? Is this a group of men that have risked their life for my freedom?

How does 'disrespectful' even come into play here? These guys are just football players. They're grown men playing a kid's game for vast sums of money. That's it. They're little more than carnival workers on a grander stage.

They're just guys.

The only respect they're entitled is the standard 'basic human dignity' that you offer to the homeless guy on the street or the waiter that brings you your soda.

Showing up to a football game dressed in black doesn't do anything to interfere with that and this franchise hasn't done anything to earn any more than that.

In the end - you're the problem. You and people like you are why owners like Jeffrey Loria and Clark Hunt can and will continue to scalp fanbases without concern. You'll come and lap up whatever 'product' you're given and criticize anyone that demands otherwise.

How about this instead of signs:

For the next game, map out a few sections of seats and just hand out blank sheets of white paper. When these signs are held up, they spell "FIRE PIOLI" in large letters. This is a large undertaking that I don't really know how to do, but I don't think you'd have to do a million seats or anything to make it visible.

The plus side is that they can't confiscate blank paper, and it's a really visible contrast against empty red seats to see that message that large.

This may have been (and likely has been) proposed before, but could we schedule a mass-walkout? It'd be great coverage for the network, and the stadium would be left looking like a preseason game was being played. Imagine if all the people yesterday who wore black (and therefore implicitly approve of the SOC movement) left en masse. That's a staggering amount of people leaving, and now there'd be even more empty seats. It'd be great to do it immediately following the national anthem, so as to eliminate any confusion as to our point.

Has anyone from SoC started thinking about organizing a field trip to NYC in April 2013? I would say at this point it seems likely that Pioli will be shitcanned, but it wouldn't shock me in the least if he is given an extension (or Clark makes good on the extension that's already been signed in secret). Radio City is only about 6,000 at capacity so it might be hard to get a lion-share of the tickets, but the other side of that coin is with such a small crowd, you have a better chance at standing out.

I would love to see the ESPN or NFLN broadcasts when Goodell gets up there for the #1 pick and Pioli doesn't select a QB. A Radio City packed full of Chiefs fans going ballistic and calling for Pioli's head would be pretty priceless.

And if he is fired/Chiefs take a QB in the first, that would be a pretty sweet payoff to be there live and finally have something to cheer for.

It was cool to see some black shirts in the crowd, as some of the fans donned that color to represent their disdain for the front office. This campaign was run by @savethechiefs, but it didn't look like it was enough. There was just too much red in the stands. Kansas City fans need to wise up and follow @savethechiefs if they want their team to ever be good again.

It will never be enough. But it was one HELL of a start.

80,688 followers as of right now. Goddamn, that's impressive for a fan revolt.

If Pioli isn't fired... we need a banner such as...

"STH- Don't renew until Pioli is fired"

They won't fire him before the season is over so where would you even fly that banner?

IMO until Pioli is fired we need to stick with the message and fly the same banner this week and hand out flyers again.

I had a glimmer of hope that Clark would shit-can Pioli today. But it didn't, so things move forward.

Just some thoughts:
1. SOC is now the face of the opposition. Validation by name recognition of both local and national media have cemented that. That's outstanding, making yesterday a success.

2. Our ability to raise funds should now go way up. Now that SOC is a valid organization to counter Pioli/RAC/the F.O., people will be more apt to donate...especially if its clear that all remaining proceeds upon the firing of Pioli will go immediately to Boys/Girls Clubs of Kansas City.

3. That said, I think it would be good for the powers-that-be to develop a plan and budget for banners/billboards/advertisements/Arrowhead events/etc. between today and the end of the season to keep the heat on, turn the heat up. It should be ambitious and increasingly disruptive.

4. A "thank you" message to those who kept the blackout and something to continue to reach out to the angry fans who haven't bought in yet would be good.

Just some thoughts. Great job, yesterday!

different slogan with the Fire Pioli tagline, but handing out fliers again a definate big yes since it's a hot button issue with Pioli in itself.

I agree completely. As tempting as it is to call yesterday the battle of Berlin, the battle still rages and there needs to be additional heat put on Pioli and Company.

I do think Clay updating the Hitler Der Untergang with new verbage could be good, spamming the text help line, more flyers.

Its going to be hard to maintain the blackout as people thought it was a onetime thing but whatever we can do to get the word out to don black till the Don is gone is needed.

Exactly. If we can show that yesterday wasn't the final shot but just the first of a growing number, that could be enough. The F.O. reads these posts and figures that it was all about yesterday.

Next week if you need my help with flyers and I get approached instead of stopping handing out flyers I'm going to have someone video tape the entire process and refuse to stop until they arrest me. I'm willing to take one for the team and any payment of fine I'll just consider a donation to SOC .

I'm also going to contact the ACLU this week to see if they have any interest in making this a test case for 1st amendment rights on public property.

Absolutely. I know from reading various articles they have been looking for a test case so I volunteer.
