B Trace is mighty fine....Just recently mixed it with Mountain Dew on somebody's recommendation. Definitely different and a bit refreshing. But my old go to is coke zero and a few splashes of bitters.

What I'm currently drinking - the Glenmorangie Lasanta. I've talked about it in an earlier post on this thread. Great quality scotch whusk matured in a Sherry cask for 3 years before bottling.

I'm not in the 'States but I think it retails around 40-50 bucks in the USA. Be thankful you don't have to mail order it from the UK and pay the postal charges, not to mention (but now I will) the dollar-to-pound conversion.

I'm not a big beer drinker. Bud Light or Michelob usually when I want a cold one. But I tried a badass blueberry wheat ale while I was vacationing in Colorado last month. I think it was a seasonal brew made by Durango Brewery. Definately for the tasting. I'm thinking I might have to find somewhere where I can special order a case or two. Good stuff.

Old-fashioned. Using Jim Beam because I'm cheap.

I had one of those last night. I used Crown Black for the booze. Also used Mr & Mrs T's Old Fashioned mix. It's not too bad if you're very lazy about making your own mix, as I am. I noticed on the label it says you can use scotch rather whiskey/bourbon. Strange, I would never think of making an OF out of scotch. Don't think it would taste right at all...

BigOlChiefsfan
10-11-2011, 05:46 AM
Many of the 'old skool' whiskey cocktails have a variation using Scotch. For a while during/after prohibition good aged bourbon/rye were hard to find, but scotch was plentiful. Add a shot, pour in some bitters and vermouth, maybe a sugar cube, call it good...whether or not it was.

It isn't a very traditional Biere de Garde at all. Too funky to be traditional But I like it because of the funk. Come to think of it, Schlafly's Biere de Garde is to that style what Bully Tank 7 is to the Saison style -- a delicious Americanized take on the style.

Lismore, its a cheap single malt scotch. Not bad though.

Technically it's a vatted malt rather than single malt, by which it's made from single malts gathered from multiple distilleries rather than just one. Nothing wrong with that, though. The price is right and reviews I've read on Lismore have been overwhelmingly positive.

I'd be interested in trying this one myself, but it's not available in my area.

In any case -- enjoy!

Blvd Sixth Glass. Only two into this four pack and I'm catching a little buzz.

Made Alton Brown's guacamole recipe too. Snacking and lounging with the bowl games on. Good start to 2012.

Tried this since I am a huge fan of Pearl Jam. Was expensive at $12. Definitely worth it for the collectors item but the beer was not that great. Just average.
