There's a pretty interesting recent study (done over something like 8 years) tying diet soda with obesity. Apparently it did the opposite of what it's supposed to (help you 'diet') for more than half the people tested. Something along the lines of the diet drinks creating chemically-induced real physiological cravings for real sugar and causing people to over eat.

I can see that.

In high school, we use to laugh at people who'd come through the Hardee's drive-through....order a "Monster Burger, large fries, an apple pie.....and a Diet Coke."

On the other hand, the ONLY time I drink soda anymore is with booze.

On the other hand, the ONLY time I drink soda anymore is with booze.I've been bad lately. Very bad.

It seems like the less sleep I get, the more likely I am to break down and eat and drink things I know I shouldn't. Need to really concentrate on focusing my willpower now of all times.

...once the 2-liter of coke I ordered with tonight's pizza is done.

she seems to have cut fruits and vegetables out of her diet and replaced them with sweets. That's my problem. When I get busy (October was busy for me...), I get tired, and when I get tired, I get lazy with my eating. So fruits and vegatables go out the door in favor of fast food and sugar.

I need to learn how to *not* do that. Because it's a vicious circle really; I get tired, and eating stuff like that, while it may...comfort me, for lack of a better word, being comfort food, it doesn't help me feel better in any way. It just wears and weighs me down.I'm a little frightened... both of what will happen if I say something and of what will happen if I don't...I can only imagine. I have enough trouble dealing with "normal" women, I can't imagine what it would be like with one even more hormonally challenged.

Keg - you want to know the best damned thing you can do to get vegetables back into your diet (my opinion, anyway, since it worked for me)?

Buy one of those $25 Black & Decker steamers. Pour some water in, put fresh veggies is, set it for 15 minutes.

Dude, I had almost no vegetables in my diet for years until we bought this f***ing thing. Now, not only do I eat vegetables, but I honestly like them. As a bonus, steamed salmon is a snap, too, so fish is back in my diet as well.

I mean, seriously, it couldn't be more simple.

Sorry if that unsolicited advice is unwarranted or offensive. I didn't mean it to be that way at all.

And the very best thing for eating fruits and vegetables is to acknowledge the fact that I'm a lazy son-of-a-bitch when it comes to slicing up stuff, so while it costs more initially, I'm much, much better off buying pre-cleaned/-sliced produce. Because I'm much more likely to actually eat it. Whereas, if I buy stuff whole, it just rots in my fridge.

That's one thing that I've learned. I'm not sure why, maybe it's the MSG, but there's something inherently addictive about bad food. But once I stop eating it for a few days, the craving just goes away.

That's a great record , but I haven't heard any other King Crimson albums. I've heard that the follow-up LP was pretty good (In The Wake Of Posideon) but was kinda a carbon copy of their debut. I dunno, but if that's true...guess anyone who liked [i]In The Court...would enjoy In The Wake...

My mom shared her hunch with me tonight that a certain young woman who is very special to the family (and extremely so to me) is being beaten by the punk ass bitch, father of her child. She has no evidence of this, just, as I say, a hunch. But I've learned that one should not take a woman's intuition lightly on such serious matters.

Just the mere thought of something like this sets my blood to boiling, but add in the possibility that it may actually be happening..... I had better never find evidence that this is taking place, because it will not be pretty if it is.

I'm not sure what I'm drinking tonight, but I'm sure it won't be as cheap as last night.

Apparently, if you're a bartender who appreciates my business and as such wants to hook me up, you need to take into account that I'm a drunken idiot and do so within reason. Else, I must just drunkenly mention to the owner that you just sold me three vodka red bulls and a 32oz pitcher of Miller Lite for $6, and you could find yourself working the kitchen instead of the bar for awhile.

I'm a moron.

Hopefully it is not happening, hopefully mom is just overreacting to this punk's insecure tendencies. But you never know. And I had trouble buying into the possibility at first; this little girl only comes up to my chest, but has been known to knock full grown men out. I have a hard time seeing her not giving back better than she got to put an end to it once and for all. But mom isn't so sure these days. I haven't talked to her in over a year, and haven't seen her in over five. Mom saw her this summer, so she's in a better position to make that call. I just hope she's wrong.

Yeah, I started working at a restaruant bar last Saturday. The only place in town I found that didn't insist on promoting from the wait staff for bar positions. Of course, the place has only been open for 4 weeks, so their options are still kind of limited.

And I'm not too concerned about who know or don't know, I know how loud you are, and I know a manager would just happen to be passing by when you blurt out about how I have been hooking you up. :)

I'm drinking a Sparks right now.

I got up today at.... uh, well I dunno. There was some consumption early in the day. At one point I was gonna go to the store to get more and when I went outside I ran into one of my youngster neighbors on his way to the pool.. case of Bud Light in tow... "Hey man, we need a fourth for beer pong."

Blam, there goes my afternoon.

Many beers and a couple tosses in the pool later, I find myself in my living room munching on a delivered Wiz Wit. I laid down... supposedly just for a couple hours before I went out drinking.

I woke up at 1. Just bought two sixers of Newcastle and a can of Sparks at the store. This is my Saturday night.

Hey man... when they were hoglegs to begin with, the roaches got quite a bit of weed left in 'em.

I just filled up the bowl on my little metal pipe... *after* smoking that big roach down to what seemed at the time like next to nothing.

My pot fairy rocks.
