They destroyed Legacy tonight.

Is the stuff from the past back...for awhile WWE TV was seriously nothing more than the McMahons jerking off all over TV...it was a big stroke job to appease their egos and make themselves look cool on TV.

I'm sorry to tell them no one buys that gray haired pudgy Shane McMahon can take on 3 guys.

They had it set up for him to just smile and shake Orton's hand, and join Legacy.

Even that would have been better than what we got.

Now we're going to see the entire McMahon family built up as babyfaces for two months (they're seriously trying to make uberbitch Steph into a face??) leading up to what I'm guessing is either an Orton/HHH program, or some bizarro-world Austin fights for Vince against Orton.

I don't know where else this could go. Or why anybody would care since it's obvious that Orton is the biggest pussy on god's green earth.

The problem we have is we aren't general fans, the general WWE fan, likes the McMahon's.

They're obviously positioning Orton to be the next it guy, so I don't expect him to be losing any matches.

Lost in all this is the fact that we have Cena, Jericho, Misterio and Kofi Kingston (?!) set up for the raw elimination chamber. Could be an interesting match, depending on who the last two are.

I kind of like that they had Matt turn on Jeff instead of the obvious "Christian was ****ing with him" thing, though.

I can't really be bothered to give two craps about Matt Hardy, but I thought Christian vs. Jeff for a WrestleMania match sounded awful from day one.

It would have ended up as a total afterthought, 'cause after 2-3 months of Christian on TV they'd be remembering exactly why they didn't push him the last time they had him. At least Matt vs. Jeff I would expect them to promote in a reasonably strong manner.

Shane was fantastic for all the wrong reasons. Hitting 80% air with his "I watch MMA" flurry of brutal flying fists and knees was an all-time hilarious moment. All it needed was Shane himself circa 1998 doing commentary, going "BOOYAH BOOYAH BOOYAH" with every punch.

keg in kc

Christian isn't a headliner, I'm assuming if he's in a match at mania it's a TLC with the other 3. Or MitB.

The Matt turn was just stupid. He'd had at least one match on his brother's behalf recently. They didn't put much thinking into that one.

The ending to RAW was pretty dumb IMO...made Orton and The Legacy look extremely weak.

As pointed out earlier, it was all set up for Shane to turn heel (?) and join the Legacy OR have Orton put his head off too, making him look uber strong by taking out both McMahons and gets him crazy heat.

It was pretty funny to see Shane turn around and randomly deck Kofi Kingston on the stage lol. That punch actually looked like it landed, didn't look worked at all.

“I think he’s a good dude. I think he has honorable intentions.” - Mickey Rourke on Vince McMahon.

Have more delusional words ever been spoken?

"The Wrestler" is, however temporarily, the general public's reference point for the wrestling business. Vince McMahon wasn't going to let that go unpunished. By trying to book Mickey Rourke for a WrestleMania match against Chris Jericho, McMahon seems determined to absorb the buzz created by "The Wrestler" and, ultimately, diminish the movie's impact by making a classic film just another disposable part of his carny con.

Rourke spent many years in his profession's wilderness, becoming a joke figure for his squandered talent. Amazingly, he revived his career overnight, recapturing his credibility and dignity with his portrayal of Randy "The Ram" Robinson. Jumping into the ring at WrestleMania has little upside for Rourke, none beyond the paycheck. A movie like "The Wrestler" has depth and drama. WWE is just fake wrestling. The two have zero in common.

Rourke called out Chris Jericho at the SAG Awards, then faced off with Jericho on "Larry King Live.” Rourke can act, but he certainly doesn't know how to work. On “Larry King,” Rourke clumsily parried Jericho's verbal thrusts with a combination of bemusement and confusion. It wasn't necessarily embarrassing, but it definitely didn't work, and may have been the catalyst for Rourke's representatives backing away from WrestleMania in the days since. The Oscars are next month, and being associated with ‘Mania now could cost Rourke the statue.

McMahon might portray it as "The Ram" returning to the big time. But Randy Robinson is a fictional character. "The Ram" needs to get in that ring at WrestleMania. Rourke needs to run screaming in the other direction. Again, what's the upside? How does Rourke benefit?

McMahon's mind operates on so many levels, all of them devious and malicious. He can't help it. He's a wrestling promoter. When "The Wrestler" premiered and became a phenomenon, McMahon issued press releases that distanced WWE from the movie, saying it represented a minor-league level of wrestling not to be confused with his company's superior product.

But then "The Wrestler" committed the cardinal sin of being popular. That got McMahon's attention. WWE promoted the movie and began courting Rourke for WrestleMania. Remember that McMahon never does anything altruistic, and only does something that's mutually beneficial as a last resort. McMahon wants to go over every time. McMahon wants the other guy to do the job every time. Money isn't the primary motivating factor. Ego is, every time.

Want proof? When McMahon bought WCW, the best thing for business would have been to keep WCW strong, do a legit invasion angle, give fans the showdown they'd dreamed about for years and absorb the entire WCW audience in the process. McMahon chose instead to make WCW weak, do a joke of an invasion angle that involved his son and then Steve Austin taking the reins of the interlopers, and permanently chase away WCW's audience.

It was pointedly what was worst for business, but the important thing was for McMahon to show beyond a shadow of a doubt that he had won, that he had beaten Billionaire Ted.

If Rourke is involved in WrestleMania, the goal will be to make "The Wrestler" seem second-rate to WWE programming or, worse yet, a part of WWE programming, albeit after the fact, a Golden Globe-winning version of "The Marine." It would be ludicrous and illogical to make that connection, but that won't stop McMahon from trying. Megalomaniacs live in their own reality.

The thought of "The Wrestler" intersecting with WWE makes me nauseous. Both use wrestling as a foundation, but are otherwise totally unrelated. Thinking about McMahon's motives makes me nauseous, too. In his mind, "The Wrestler" upstaged his product, and he wants to get even.

Here's my advice to anyone involved with "The Wrestler," especially Mickey Rourke. If you want to be at WrestleMania, buy a ticket and sit out of camera range.

I missed wrestling for quite some time. So can someone explain to me how Hornswaggle went form being Vince's son to Finley's?It just kind of happened. As I recall they sort of teased for a while that Finlay was the dad, and that there was some kind of agreement between the two (he and vince). It really didn't make a whole lot of sense.

Then again, I didn't pay much attention at the time, because I really don't pay much attention to the really overtly kid-oriented shit like that (it annoys me more than anything). I think it's about as entertaining as having khali do a kiss cam segment (or show up in WWE at all). I'm one of the folks who wishes they'd move back towards more mature themes, but knows they never will, because the money's with families.

Speaking of them, I'm probably the only one, but I was a little miffed that they ended Swagger's win streak last night.

Courtesy of WO/F4W:

The account of what happened with Chris Jericho and the woman that is posted on your website is not correct. Here is what actually happened, as my girlfriend and I were literally 5 feet away from the altercation (the total incident was about 5 minutes) and saw the whole thing happen. Here's what happened (I already had it typed out because I had sent it to another site, so I'll send it to you as well):

This afternoon after the WWE house show in Victoria, my girlfriend and I went to see the wrestlers leave the arena (this was my girlfriend's first WWE event and she wanted to see them leave). The following is exactly what happened right in front of me and about another 50 wrestling fans who happened to be there are well:

Chris Jericho exited the building, and walked over to his white rental vehicle. The crowd watching him leave was heckling him, but he was ignoring it. He gets in his vehicle and drives out of the arena parking lot, right past the crowd of us. As Jericho stops at a stop sign, a fan runs into the street and starts banging on his rental vehicle. At this point about 50 people rush into the middle of the intersection, blocking traffic in several directions, with no police and very inadequate and incompetent security (no WWE security guards period). My girlfriend and I were literally in the very front of the crowd, and this all went down literally five feet away from us.

Chris Jericho opens the door to his vehicle in the middle of the road, and the fan shuts the door back on him. Jericho then gets out of the vehicle completely, and punches the fan in the face! This prompts another fan to jump in (he was friends with the first) and attack Jericho, and Jericho scuffles with the second guy. At this point, a woman who knows the second guy who attacked Jericho starts to jump in and get in Jericho's face (because he was fighting her friend).

This is where the Save on Foods Rent-A-Security Guards stopped standing around watching this happen (I swear they thought they were watching a wrestling angle or something), and stepped in to separate Jericho and the woman, who was shoving him. Looking at Jericho's face he was obviously ready to explode and was restraining himself...but then the shitstorm happened...

He spit in the girl's face, and called her a "fucking bitch". The woman then spit in Jericho's face. Jericho then started cursing out the woman some more, and was getting ready to go back into his vehicle (as all of this is still happening in the middle of the road). While he was turning to go into his vehicle, one of the guys he was fighting shoved Jericho against his car. Another guy then shoved Jericho, and that time he bumped his head on the top of his vehicle. This was where Jericho seriously snapped.

After bumping his head, Jericho went into a shitstorm, throwing and swinging at everybody around him. He knocked one guy to the ground, told another fan that he was going to "fucking kill you". The woman who got spit on was still yelling at Jericho, so he piefaced her away from him (because the arena security couldn't keep them separated). As soon as he put his hands on the woman, ANOTHER fan jumps in and starts swinging at Jericho. Jericho grabs the guy and starts throwing him to the ground, and at this point I have to yank my girlfriend out of the way and into some other people because Jericho had literally thrown himself and the other guy into our direction and we would of been knocked down by the scuffle.

The arena security try again at this point to regain order, and two of them grab Jericho and start yelling at him to calm down, to which Jericho responds by taking a swing at one of the security guards and yelling at them to "do your fucking job and get the fucking police here". Then he shoves the second guard to the ground and tells him to "stay the fuck off me".

Well, as that happens, the chick lunges at Jericho AGAIN, and this time Jericho actually punches the woman in the face, and shoves her to the ground. This stunned everyone, and the girl's friends ended up jumping in trying to fight Jericho, to which he fought all of them off, then storms into his vehicle swearing and speeds off, running through a stop sign in the process.

This whole thing happened over the span of about 5 minutes (of the street being blocked by this ordeal), and the woman ended up calling the cops on Jericho. They arrived 5 minutes after Jericho left, complete with a Paddy Wagon. The WWE's head of security did not see the incident, so he was there trying to figure out what happened along with the cops at the same time while yapping on his cell phone, and the woman is pressing charges against Jericho. As crazy and unbelievable this sounds, it can all be backed up with whatever police report was filed on the scene this afternoon.

I hope this made sense, as a lot of stuff happened. If you have any questions or need clarification, just ask. This was taped by several people with cell phone cameras, but there were only 50 people down there so I hope the video makes it way to the internet. Regardless, this went down as one of the craziest things I have ever seen in my life (even if it didn't involve Chris Jericho), and Jericho could be in some serious legal trouble over this one; although he was provoked, he seriously snapped and crossed the line.

and here was another take..

The following is a live account from a WZ reader who witnessed Chris Jericho and a fan getting into an altercation during a recent Jericho appearance. Following the testamonial is a video of the incident.

"I was a witness to a fight between a crazed fan and Chris Jericho after the show on Feb. 7th 2009 in Victoria BC. Chris Jericho was in his white SUV and leaving the arena when a crazed fan started chasing after his car and pounded on the window. Jericho was stuck in traffic and the car came to a stop, and then the fan pulled on the door and it opened! Jericho stopped his car and came out to pose for pics, when suddenly the same fan lunged for him and Chris Jericho threw a punch in self defense! A woman was pushed into Jericho as well and security was pretty lax, but finally they pulled the fan away and Chris was able to get into his SUV and drive safely away. The police arrived shortly after and hopefully arrested the fan for asult. Chris Jericho had taunted the fans in the show saying that he would take on anyone, but this fan took him seriously. Glad that Jericho got away unharmed!!! It was very intense!!!"

And one of the funnier takes on it..

I woke up this morning thinking that the WWE house show I attended in Victoria yesterday afternoon was a rather uneventful experience--very short and something probably best enjoyed by 8-12 year olds these days.

I guess I was wrong. I guess this will turn out to be a very memorable trip for Chris Jericho, and perhaps the whole WWE if this becomes a messy legal situation. I wanted a memorable show, but not in this way.

Anyway, the idiots who attacked Jericho were sitting close to myself on the floor for the whole show. Actually sitting isn't a good way to describe the male idiot (around 16-20 years old I'd say), who is your typical gangsta-wannabe, and who was wearing a merch-table WWE belt all afternoon, reacting to all the heels as if the whole show was a shoot and constantly running up to the front row and calling them pussies and such.

For example, at one point during the Beth Phoenix vs. Kelly Kelly match, Santino Marella began taunting a young fan in the front row. Next thing you know, the male idiot comes running to the kids rescue and, totally serious, gets in Santino's face, challenging him to a fight.

I was surprised security did not kick him out at this point. Afterwards I could hear him explaining to a security guard, "Didn't you see what he did to that kid? You can't do that," (I'm not totally sure what Santino said or did to the kid, maybe somebody else caught it) as if he believed the whole situation was as real as the fights that I'm sure he tries to pick outside of his local 7-11 on Friday nights. At this point I was almost tempted to pull the idiot aside and ask, "You do know this is a performance, right?"

So Jericho, as far as I can figure, was attacked by a real honest-to-God true believer, just like the guys who used to stab and punch wrestlers in the old territory days. I didn't think, unless they happen to be mentally challenged, such fans still existed. The idiot and his girlfriend (who I thought was at most 14-15 years old) were also huge John Cena fans, which is likely why they targeted Jericho after the show.

The article states they were both 20 years old. Ashley Levey can be easily seen in the video wearing a John Cena t-shirt.

Oh and big shocker these 2 are already filing a lawsuit against Jericho.

This gif sums it up pretty well I think...

http://i51.photobucket.com/albums/f394/sxdx15/1234076020295.gif

If you watch that closely...chick pushes him, Jericho hits his head on the car, before he even turns his head he's already throwing the punch at whoever just caused him to hit his head..

That's pretty much the definition of asking to be punched man or woman, shoving a guy in a mob of dumbass fans.

And this video can't be embedded but it's longer and worth a watch

That's some great linkage. Stream 1 was some horrendous TNA bullshit. Streams 2 & 3 right now are a '96 Nitro. Stream 4 saw Tajiri suplexing fools on some Summerslam. Stream 5? An episode of the '90s X-Men cartoon.

The Nitros, WWE pay-per-views, and old '90s TV shows are actually available ON-DEMAND.

The June 3rd, 1996 Nitro playing on the stream is literally worth $30 more than last night's TNA pay-per-view. It had Regal and the Blue Bloods outfox Hacksaw, a recap of the Benoit-Sullivan feud leading to the first ever appearance by PRINCE IAUKEA in a Sullivan squash match, a really long Arn/Flair vs. Rock 'n Roll Express match, Heenan being Heenan, an awesome botch to end Hugh Morris vs. Scott Norton, and Sting/Luger vs. the Steiners ending with all of them taking on the Giant.

They have the music video for the Kablam! theme song on there!

It's been funny watching the jericho story. Before the youtube videos hit the web, people were trying to make it out like jericho went all roid rage and started beating up innocent fans (there's an article from a victoria paper with that tone, as well). Then the videos started to hit and each one made it more and more obvious that he was trying to leave, got accosted at the stop light, was surrounded with incompetent security, and when he finally threw punches he was obviously defending himself.

Good luck suing him, retards.

They're totally setting this up for HHH to win Sunday (Big Show will cost Edge the title, starting a feud they've been teasing there), and then to come in at Wrestlemania as the savior of the McMahon family, after Orton beats the shit out of Shane.

I hope that's not the way they're going. I don't particularly want to see hun-tor destroy all three members of priceless while blindfolded with his arms tied behind his back.

We'll see what happens now, during the Taker match (although they can't really have either of them win/lose this match, so it's going to be a fuck finish of some kind).

Would you rather see HHH against Edge: the feud over Vickie fat jokes? Plus like Mecca said, that doesnt work with the way Wrestlemania is set up.

And you can complain about HHH all day, but unlike the people writing Raw, at least he knows how money angles are built. If this was all to build to HHH saving the day, none of this back and forth with Shane would be going on because it weakens the heat of the whole thing. Why would HHH (or anyone else) need to save the McMahons when Orton can barely handle Shane?

So where is the angle going? Because I sure don't know. It doesn't make any sense to have the gray-haired middle-aged non-wrestling son of the owner/promoter repeatedly beating the shit out of the young heel stable, no matter how hard I try to rationalize what I'm seeing.

Beyond that, what matches are set up for wrestlemania right now? I don't see any money angles. This may be the first time in the 5 years I don't buy it. Hopefully they can come up with something. Because I can't remember a year where we got to mid-february and there wasn't even one feud leading to mania that I wanted to see. Right now, as far as I can tell, it's shaping up to be a card that wouldn't make for an interesting one night stand (oh wait, extreme rules).

Wrestlemania 24 was so stacked and completely worth every cent of the $50 I paid for it, but yeah, this year looks barren. I'll want to see whatever it is Jericho is leading up to, be it a thing with Rourke or Austin coming in, but that and MITB are about it.

I'm sure Orton will beat Shane, but at this point it's a question of how much he'll really go over Shane. I was thinking positive thoughts until this week's show, and I think the "Shane saved Taker" stuff is a bit overplayed right now in the IWC, but holy crap the execution of that sucked.

The more I think about it, the more I like the decision to put him on ECW for a while. This helps build up Swagger's credibility and, as Mecca pointed out, puts him right into Wrestlemania with neither muss nor fuss (and judging by tonight's match, that's an addition to WM25 that I look forward to). It also eliminates the "Let's book him as a heel while a portion of the crowd gives him a face response anyways" issue and lets the (re)new-Christian smell wear off a bit.

2009 WWE Draft announced for Raw April 13 (http://www.wwe.com/shows/raw/articles/8854524/92755341?cid=2009EP-00)

As if April couldn’t possibly get any bigger – WWE.com has learned that eight days following the 25th Anniversary of WrestleMania, WWE will “shake things up” once again, with a 2009 WWE Draft that will commence live on Monday Night Raw, on USA Network.

In many ways, the WWE Universe continues to feel the aftershocks created by from last year’s epic Draft on Raw, during which 10 Superstars changed their respective home brands. (Followed by more than a dozen Superstars who were affected by a subsequent Supplemental Draft that took place on WWE.com.) Several of those roster adjustments quickly resulted in title changes that dramatically altered the WWE landscape – among them, CM Punk winning the World Heavyweight Championship from Edge a week after the Straightedge Superstar had been drafted to Raw.

With that, what can our Superstars, General Managers and you, the WWE Universe, expect from the Draft when Raw commences live in Atlanta's Philips Arena April 13? Details will be forthcoming in the weeks ahead, though one thing is certain: as per Mr. McMahon’s statement a year before, it will be “time to shake things up around here!”

So Edge lays out Big Show and ends the go-home smackdown holding the belt over the rest of the guys in the chamber match. They're following the script I mentioned monday:They're totally setting this up for HHH to win Sunday (Big Show will cost Edge the title, starting a feud they've been teasing there)I say again, it looks like they're setting up HHH and Orton. The shows they're on won't matter in the title picture with a draft a week after wrestlemania.

We'll see what happens sunday, there's still a chance they try to swerve everybody and have the phone call last monday be from someone other than HHH, change directions at the last minute a la subbing Matt for Christian. But I'm guessing it's going to be Orton and Legacy destroying Shane, and then Orton threatening Stephanie.

And yes I know it doesn't make sense with Orton getting the free title shot anyway, why pull threatening the family shenanigans, but that looks to be where it's going. And it would have to be a match with the title on HHH or there's no reason for Orton to be in it.

Maybe they swerve and have the title go on Undertaker, and last Monday's match was somehow the start of a feud between him and legacy. Who knows. But it sure looks like HHH/Orton.

Course they may not even know what they're doing yet.

Either way, Stephanie's been doing that "talking on the phone to nobody" bit since she was the Smackdown GM. Nobody cared a few weeks ago when she was talking to someone about her sick kids. Why is this segment now a big clue?

COLONS~!

Starting Christian off on ECW was a good move by Vince. I just hope they do it right and set him up with a long lasting feud with Edge after Wrasslemania instead of just feeding him to John "BRUSF YO MOUPH WIT CO-GATE" Cena.

Wasnt the Stephanie phone call supposed to be from Shane?

Thats what Dave Meltzer said, that it was to make people think Shane wasnt there. I dont know if he was assuming or if someone told him, but thats what he said.

Cena and Y2J?

I think Jericho will be busy with the Flair and Rourke situation. And if Austin is going to wrestle, which Meltzer swears he is, Jericho is the only opponent that makes any sense to me. He can keep running down the HOF guys, and Flair can point out that he cant wrestle but he knows another HOFer who wants to shut Jericho up.

But they could have angles in mind they havent shot yet. This time a year ago, Big Show wasnt even on WWE TV, and a month or so later he was in a major Wrestlemania match with Floyd Mayweather.

Who the **** is Cena wrestling?Who's 'taker wrestling? Who's Michaels wrestling (now that it looks like they're finishing the JBL angle this weekend)? The only thing that they have set up right now is Jericho/Flair/Rourke, although they're teasing Edge/Big Show pretty heavy.

They don't have any PPVs from now until mania, so I guess they're just going to build everything for the show in the next 6 weeks.

Seriously, once he got into the match Edge pulled out as gritty and gutty a win as Cena or HHH could have ever hoped for. He took like six different finishers from Rey Rey before winning. Of course, he's a heel, so it's not a credit to his character, but still.

Wait so did Shawn win?Thankfully, yes.

Hopefully that means JBL slowly shutting it down and moving back into a color role, which he excelled in. Maybe he can either replace or at least speak over Lawler on Raw.
